SUPER CHEVY was great!
Steve was in Illinois on business so he was able to spend the weekend with us at the show and helped Andy with getting BOTH of his awesome Super Sports to the car show. He was also a great help in getting all of our cars spiffed up for the judging. Thanks again Steve. I'll let Steve brag about what he got to drive.
Here are the results:
Andy was the Class Winner for 'Street' class with his red convertable SS. His electron blue Berger SS got a 'runner up' in the 4th gen modified class. How's that possible?!
Well... I was the Class Winner in the 'Modified' 4th gen Camaro class! Congrats Andy! Better luck next time.

The Super Chevy show is going to be here in Seattle August 23-25. I have to work on the Sat., but am going Sun. Any tips about the show that you can share?
I can't wait to go sounds like fun.
Mark, any pics from the show?? I know you guys took some, hurry get a link working or post some.
Again, congrats!
Thanks.. I had a blast!! Im going to check with Poltergeist and see if he can host the pics of the event since I dont have room.. I will also burn the pics to CD and send you and Andy a copy..
Your cars deserved to win hands down.. Seeing all your cars in person is far more impressive than on here.. the attention to detail is amazing
Now three other cars have the "official" steve hood wire mod -- Now you know what a nut job I am.. lol
Oh, Andy let me drive the electron Berger to the show one day.. 435hp.. GMMG exhaust.. YEA BABY!! what a great car to drive!!.. The red car is fun to drive but the blue one is f'ing kick in the *** to drive
Thanks for all your hospitallity and congrats on your sweep
Wheres Andy??? lol
As far as winning... their main focus on cleanliness but you do get points for your execution of mods (i.e., colored convoluted tubing makes you LOSE points). They also like to see a first aid kit and a fire extinguisher, etc. Steve is a pro at winning Super Chevy shows. He'll have some tips for you once he chimes in here.
Wheres Andy???

I'm here! Wanted to give Mark first stab at gloating about beating the Berger in the modified class. Mark's reaction when he beat me was priceless! Just haven't had much time to post either, work is nuts right now!
It was a great time, I know for sure I couldn't have won the awards on both cars without Steve's help. I am very pleased to maintain first place status with the Red Convertible. (Two years in a row!) Runner up with the Berger is a great honor too.
The dope that I am I didn't take a single picture! I seem to be getting into this very bad habit of bringing the camera, but not using it!
Steve it was great meeting you, thanks for all the tips, tricks and trinkets! You hard work is greatly appreciated! I hope to see your SS in the near future.
Andy

Must of pandamonium at the show when the rain got there!!
Here are the happy winners:

Congrats to all!
I have pix and will post them soon. I really liked the convertible and the Berger. There were too many 35ths and too much red (even though I love red). Not too much originality other than a select few. Otherwise a good show!

Todd: two words.. CLEAN and MINIMALIST.. the clean part is obvious but keep in mind that a clean LOWER half of your car is worth twice as many points at a clean UPPER half of your car.. ie. the judges look in the out of the way places for dirt.. the lower part of the engine.. the rocker panels behind the wheels.. that is where shows are won and lost
By Minimalist they like wires to be gone.. or at least routed neatly.. They (Super Chevy) do not like colored convo tubing but they are older and are used to older cars where big $$ are spent to make the engine area as neat and simple as possible.. they also dont generally judge the undercarrige.. Oh, they hate empty holes in your engine area (fill them with something).. the judge also said "do something with EVERY part" even if its just to paint a black bracket a nicer coat of black.. its the small details that add up to make a winning car ]

Thanks for the advice! I think I may have the most cluttered engine in the world with my supercharger LOL. OMG, there is duct work everywhere and space is limited. I may get negitive points.
Mark, since you mentioned it, at the all Camaro show here yesterday there were very few silver SS's. You and Steve have kind of rare colers. I use to have a silver Camaro and loved it. Black is tough to work with to find a color to compliment it, red is usally to loud, silver works. A black roll cage would be a good match with silver and makes it stand out a little, but is not loud. I remember you saying you were thinking about getting one.

Lots of stickers bad... 9 different accent colors bad.. a yellow oil dipstick handle on a car with no other yellow parts just draws attention to that one item.. makes it not flow.. answer? paint it (red, silver, black, blue, etc)
BTW Todd.. at Super Chevy a SuperCharger puts you in Modified class.. but your is nice enough to compete there
Actually there is only a few megabytes of pics.. some came out pretty good.. one prob is that that pics are 17x10 inches big and if you just open them without XP or a good viewer they are huge.. i could go in with PS and make them small first.. hmmm
