I've always loved Vipers. They just look so badass and like nothing else on the road. As nice as corvettes are, they kind of blend in, but there's no doubt a viper will turn every head, even if it is "slow" as you say.

Don't get me wrong, it isn't "slow" but it certainly isn't "fast", I guess it just depends how you want to word it. From what I understand they are 12 teen cars stock, and with longtubes/catback/intake and a halfway decent driver they are 11.50 cars.

The problem is, that doesn't come close to cutting it around here, at least if you are interested in running anybody, so it will need a little extra bump.

Nice, way back in 99' I went to a DODGE only "test run" event in Orlando where they had a Viper test ride day, you did not get to drive but only ride but it it was still cool, I think I still have the scar on my calf where the side pipes burned me, it is an awesome car though. I understand this year will be the end of the line for the Viper and the Challenger will take over has king of the hill for Fiat, I mean Dodge.

Care to elaborate? The listing you linked says '00 and you said only 96-00 had forged motors so it was out for you? Reason I asked was I thought it was a great price and showed it to my dad since he's been wanting a GTS for a long time and I figured with a little persuasion I might get him to buy it.

Sorry, I have no idea why I included the 00 model year in that. 96-99 are the forged motors, 00 was the first year of the hypereutectic pistons. Supposably they went that route because they are lighter. In their defense, it makes sense, it isn't a boosted car from the factory. Although 9.5:1 and a forged motor for 96-99 is begging for FI.

i wasn't aware that vipers had forged motors and thats good to know for a future reference.

btw, im disappointed that you drove 20hrs and you didn't even give us a "car&driver" review...whats wrong with you?

congrats on the new toy and give us some feed back on her. ive heard that they're small inside but are they comfy? i don't know much about vipers and the roe supercharger but i would think there would be a rediculous torque curve with 500+ci

I'll get it on the dyno this week to see how it looks. It drives really nice, and it is bigger inside, at least up front, than the T/A, and more comfortable. It does ride a little stiff however.
