How Do I get a FIREHAWK HOOD?

How Do I get a FIREHAWK HOOD? Ok, so I don't have a firehawk. I do think the SLP Firehawk hoods are way cool. I've looked around and the Raptor hood seems to be pretty close but it doesn't have the little "vents on each side halfway up. How do I get this hood? Oh ya, before someone answers "buy a firehawk" I've already been told that.

Re: How Do I get a FIREHAWK HOOD? The only way it will happen is if you steal a firehawk owners vin #, but in order to get a new hood SLP wants the wrecked hood in order for them to send you a new one...

Re: How Do I get a FIREHAWK HOOD? If you really wanted the hood that bad i dont think it would be very hard to get. Jimmy the hood to pop up and its 4 bolts plus the struts. I wouldn't do it because tis an f body. But you could, I doubt you'r that serious over it. Another choice for a hood is the mecham one.

That seems to be about as difficult to find as the SS OEM center mount exhaust for the camaros...I thought I would never find a way to buy one but someone just sold me their OEM center kit! Luck me! heh. I seriously doubt any firehawk owner will want to scrap that unique hood for something different though.

Re: How Do I get a FIREHAWK HOOD? Unless you're willing to throw a *lot* of money at it, the Mecham hood is not a good option. It does have a pretty design, but the fit & quality have a lot of issues. Finishing & paint prep for the Mecham hood seems to usually be more than double that of any of the other aftermarket options.

Shane: I must have lucked out. I did not experience any of the issues you said. The fitment was fine, and the prep/paint cost me no more than my old replacement hood. I was very happy with it.

Re: How Do I get a FIREHAWK HOOD? Just so everyone realizes. I would not ever steal anything. I was just responding in a funny way to the dung beetle thing. I do appreciate all the replies. Now I am stuck between the raptor or the mecham. I like both of them. Life was so much easier when I drove a cavalier.
