From Bird to Goat...

To the OP: Im not much farther behind you. Im selling my bird for a gto SOON as I find a decent 06
OP nice looking GTO, you really can't beat the build quality compared to any generation F-Body.
LS1 firehawks routinely run low 13's even high 12's stock...
so i'd have to agree in the 1/4 mile:
LS1 Firehawk > LS1 Goat
an LS2 goat would be more comparable to a firehawk/ss/ws6 fbody.
I'm not speaking ill of Goats, they're just heavier than fbody's...

lmaoGTO vs. Fbody arguments aside, it's still a GM, it's an awesome car with tons of potential.[/QUOTE
Amen to that!!!
you can shave well over 100lbs. off of the goat w/o being able to tell. empty trunk, take off skidplate, fuel tank brace, and tow hitch brace.
Hopefully you can find your ta in a few yrs. and buy it back, your going to miss it sooner then later...

To the OP, great looking car! I never even considered a GTO as a DD.. now that I think about it, once my 408 car is converted to race-only (very soon, lol) and I get tired of my other DD I very well may look in to a 6spd LS1 GTO to be my DD. Roomy, HUGE UPGRADE over an fbody for interior, good fuel mileage with a 6spd, and still quick enough to beat 90% of other cars on the road.
Thanks for this thread.
