Yesterday I passed 3 other black late model Camaros within 3 miles, two were SS's! I thought I had a rare car. So today I started pricing custome paint jobs. I want Viper Blue with two white stripes running the full length of the car.I called only the best shops (I want show quality) I got quotes between $7,500 and 8,500! What do you guys think? I love the Berger scheme but think it would be cheesey to copy one.

well, if they are the SHOW quality places, then it is worth it. with paint, you get what you pay for. are they gonna put the striped into the little "crevices" on top of the front bumper cover under the hood? so when you lift the hood up there is stll the continuance of the stripes? most shops don't do that. look at how much work they have to do to do a complete color change. are they gonna keep your engine bay black? or are they gonna disassemble the fenders and everything and paint it blue? got to go into detail with the people what you want done. my buddy is painting his GN and it's gonna be about that if not more, and that's keepign the same color and no stripes being done.

I don't know about pricing, but your idea sounds great. Your SS looks amazing right now, without custom paint. If you can afford it, do it!!

Price seems about right for a COMPLETE color change except engine area.. I think Berger charges around the same for a color change and painted on stripes..

There is nothing wrong with copying the Berger stripes.. heck they got them from the 1969 Z28 stripes.. just take their basic design and modify it a bit.. maybe have the back stripes continue under the spoiler (like MARK IXZD 150).. Ive seen Andys car and the blue/white combo would be very sweet..

I would do one wide stripe like the Grand Sport Corvettes. That's more of a Chevy thing rather than a Dodge thing like the Viper style stripes.
