I'm really not sure. Since the lip is the way it is on the Smoothie IIs I think 17s would be sufficient, but I'm not really sure. I'd like 18s but tires are going to be $200 more everytime I buy them and that's alot of money for a college kid trying to pay his car off and do a few mods here and there. I'm just trying to figure out which I want to go with. So for anyone who has advantages of one or the other I'd love to hear them. I think the 17s are superior in every performance aspect save handling, and they are equal in that I've heard. So the only reason to get 18s would be cosmetic only, and I'm not sure I want to pay the extra $400 for a set of wheels and $200 more for tires on top of that. But I do want it to look good. Thanks for any help.

Well at the track tonight I saw what I'm about 99% sure were 17" Smoothie wheels (not Smoothie IIs, these have the standard stepped lip, not the reversed lip) and they look like they needed to be one size bigger. Since I want to improve looks but not give up too much traction or add too much weight, I'm going to go 17" Smoothie IIs, since I saw the 17" Smoothies and they looked like if they were one size bigger they would have been perfect. Oh yeah, it was on a badass red '69 Z/28 with black stripes, dropped, immaculate black leather interior, and the Smoothies. A set of 17" Smoothie IIs should be very nice on the T/A, and be just enough wheel to set it off without over-doing it and sacraficing performance, all the while saving $600 on wheels and tires as opposed to 18"s.

The link for you car didn't work for me, so I couldn't get a close up look of the car, but from that little thumbnail it looks like the car is lowered. If so, I'd go for the 17's.
I have 17's (TT II's) on my car and I'm satisfied with them. I could have gotten 18's, but that would have cost so much more per wheel.
If you aren't that concerned with the cosmetics of 18's versus 17's, then save yourself the money and get 17's.

PS- I just thought of this, but can you really justify paying an extra $400 for an extra inch on your wheels? Especially since you are a college student. I was there and I know I couldn't.
