Default Picking up Engine today! "Mini Build Thread"

Well Since my 30k. Ws6 chunked out last summer. The beggining of the month of Jan. I finally got around to getting it back together . I still have a long ways to go, but i've came a long way in 1 month . Thanks to all the sponsors here!

Here's what i've got, and here's what I still have to get-

New Block.
Stock GM Crank.
Diamond Street/Strip Pistons (11502) -2cc Reliefs
Eagle H Beam Rods W/ARP2000bolts
FAST 92 Intake
T-Rex Cam - 242/248 - .608/.612 - 110 lsa
TSP 5.3 220cc Heads-Milled to 59cc- Thanks to TSP, i bought these heads lastyear but one got damaged and i sent the other in to tsp to get checked and orderd a new one and got them both milled. Big thanks to the guys at TSP!
Yank PT4000 Stall
ARP Main Bolts
All new main, cam, rod Bearings.

I dropped my motor off to get done the first week of Jan. I got a call today saying it'd be done today. Done by a local guy here in IN(46975). He did all the machining/rotating assembly/Installed the cam bearings/cam and degreed it. He also grinded off that tab that won't clear the ls6 pcv and gapped the rings for nitrous, Big thanks to him!

Here's what's left to get-

LS7 Lifters
Pushrods
LS6 PCV
Oil Pan
LS6 Oil Pump
UD Pulley
Yella Terra Lites Rocker Arms or Stock ones.
Nick Williams 92mm Throttle Body
MSD Plug Wires
160Degree Stat
Wideband
Built 4l60E Transmission
TransCooler
Pacesetter Race Ceramic Headers
LPP Off Road Y-Pipe
LPP Dual Exhaust
42lb Injectors
Walbro Fuel Pump
All new gaskets/Bolts.

HSW Wet Plate Kit- Spraying 150 shot.

19x10 18x8.5 Black C6 Rims.

Suspension work i'd like to get done too. Don't know how much i'll get done though-

UMI K-Member
UMI Upper&Lower Arms
UMI Lower Control Arms
UMI Panhard Rod
UMI Front&Rear Sway Bars
UMI Torque Arm
UMI Bolt in Subframe Connectors
UMI Shock Tower Brace
QA1 Shock/Springs

I Figured making this thread would motivate me more. considering it took 4 months to even get around to starting it.

In the end i'll be getting a Tune by www.Wait4meperformance.com

Here's some pics to get started-

hahahaha thanks guys- covers/alt. bracket/etc is painted silver. the block is painted to match the WS6.

On a side note, that ******* i bought the block from on here sent me the wrong main caps! wtf!. So my guy is going to line hone them. Engine should be done from him mid next week .

on a side note he has a ls6 block in the shop that a kid brought in last sept. to get a piston/rod fixed and when he came back amonth later to get it he didnt show up with any cash. my guy told him to come back when he had cash. it's been sitting in there since november since then. he just wants his labor out of the block and anyone can have it i think i may be picking it up

i'll prolly end up selling it.

I'm just throwing this built one in the ws6 for now. next winter i'm either going to build a 454lsx or procharge my ls1-lower the compression, get a custom grind cam, and a smaller stall. Leaning towards the procharger.

I wanna get a 01-02 SS Camaro for a DD (boltons/spray). But i have a 08 Chrysler 300 for a DD right now. lol

I'll have more pics by the end of this week, I should get my heads tuesday and my block back by the end of the week

well plan for this month is to get the block back(pay my guy the $850 for all the machining/balancing/rotating assembly put in/all bearings put in/cam in and degreed).

I have lifters, new cylinder head dowels, and rocker arms on the way.

Get my cometic cylinder head gaskets .040 .
ARP Head Studs

get the cylinder heads on the block, buy a pushrod length checker, then buy pushrods, then get the valve covers on.

that's it for this month. slowly but surely it'll get done.
