Default Car is back together.. lots of little mods :)

Well its was a month of down time.. mostly due to waiting for stuff to be finished and having the time to work on it

Things done:

1. Pull front bumper and have repainted.. what the heck lets shave that front emblem

2. Repaint the Wings West grill, have a custom SS hand painted on and cover it in XPEL clear bra.. Also replaced WW grill mesh with nice stainless race mesh (thanks to MARK IXZD 150)

3. Power Antenna with remote switch

4. Add 21mm rear sway bar and have them both (35mm front) red powder painted.. new bushings also

5. Powder paint the ABS, AC Condensor, throttle cable, Coil pack racks and sway bar bracket charcole grey metallic.

6. Paint the valve covers red, replace all screws with polished allen button head bolts

7. Rework FRC's and add 5.7 L decals

8. Forget to install EGR back on car.. fab block off plate for intake <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" /> -- Gotta love LS1edit!

9. Custom engine head plate powder painted in charcoal grey metallic

10. Hide the wiring loom on the passengers side and reroute wire out front of right FRC.

Plus lots of little stuff -- A big thanks to Mark for helping me with the grill mesh and FRC decals.. HUGE thanks to Rob (Poltergeist) for helping me with the electrical stuff.. and to my wife for being patient <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" />

Here are some quick pics:

I love the power antenna.. pretty easy to do too....
<img src="http://members.aol.com/steven0932/R1.jpg" alt=" - " />

Missing front emblem, painted front SS, new stainless grill mesh:
<img src="http://members.aol.com/steven0932/R2.jpg" alt=" - " />

Overall engine:
<img src="http://members.aol.com/steven0932/R3.jpg" alt=" - " />

Engine close up.. Engine plate, throttle cable bracket, chrome hose clamps, FRC hold down, yada, yada <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" />
<img src="http://members.aol.com/steven0932/R5.jpg" alt=" - " />

Im working with Rob on getting a bunch of detailed pics together on a website.. should be easier to see the little stuff that way

A couple weeks of detailing and I should be ready for the show in San Diego <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" />

Steve that looks simply awesome bro! I'm very impressed. One question, how did you get some of your parts, like your A/C canister chromed? Did you polish them? If so you did a great job. Did you need to take them off the car or did it right there? Regardless your SS is lookin tight.

Looking really good Steve! I'd love to see a closer shot of the front SS emblem. Also, what's that little silver badge next to your air filter? <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" />

Now you need a chrome hood scoop grille from Afterthoughts Auto. That'll tie in your wheels and front grille mesh nicely. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Cool]" src="gr_images/icons/cool.gif" />

I don't wander into the appearance forum too often, and don't really get into the "show car" stuff.

Steve, you have one of the best looking LS1 F-bodies (if not the best) I have ever seen. I love the engine compartment. Such a big change from the colored tubing and hoses I see all the time when folks want to "dress them up."

Looks awesome!

Steve,

Your car is perfect! <img border="0" title="" alt="[Cool]" src="gr_images/icons/cool.gif" />

Again, very tastefully done. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Cool]" src="gr_images/icons/cool.gif" />

You are the man. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" />

I know that I am wrong because I am looking at your engine pic, but wasn't your intake painted??

My god, I'll tell you again, you did a great job!! <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" />

I just had my computer's hard drive reformatted and I lost all of my pics of everyones cars, what a bummer it has been for the past couple weeks.

I thought I had a pic of your intake painted.

Did you have your headers re polished or something, they look like new. For that matter everything looks better than new, hell it is!

Kudos my friend, that is one fine SS. <img border="0" alt="[cheers]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_cheers.gif" />

Todd

Finally got to see the pics.

Steve,

You seriously have THE best looking Camaro I've ever seen. I showed your pics to a friend of mine. He's not really a car buff, but he knows a little. Anyway, he said "What the hell is that? An Aston Martin Vanquish?" He didn't believe that it was a Camaro. He honestly thought it was a $250,000 car.

It might only be a Camaro, but it sure looks like a million bucks to me.

Now that you've done every single appearance mod...time to get inside that motor! Maybe a nice heads/cam set up?

Dan
