hey mark i was looking at the instructions for the overlay, 1- i have the transam bezel and was planning on not using it so it doesnt cover up everything, but what about the tach stop? do i need one? and will there be a big ugly gap from the gauge lens to the overlay without the bezel being there? and 2- whats up with the spraying the overlay with clear paint?

You don't need the tach stop, I haven't had one for my last 4 overlays lol. The clear spray paint is to prevent any fading due to the sun, although I have never sprayed any of mine & have never had any issues. It was recomended to me by the place that does the printing to be on the safe side.

ive got cool white leds and some plain *** black gauges (i figure that may or may not effect hotspots..)

ok cool, i dont think im gonna spray mine, im not sure it would look right, and if something went wrong with the paint theres $325 down the drain. also my background is alot darker than in the pictures and compared to your green one and its kinda hard to see

is it the one for clear needles?

My overlay is white so i doubt it will fade, beside the clear spraypaint will give it a glossy look which would if it streaks up the design.

I wouldn't spray it... Never sprayed mine or any of the ones I've installed and no issues...

If you really want to just get a spray with a matte finish (no gloss that way)...

If you have an LS1 the total amount you CAN have is 8.
5 - for the background lighting.
2 - 1 for each turn signal
1 - High beam

If you dont care for turn signals or high beams, then you only need 5 LED's

The only thing is that with 5 LED "bulbs", there's an LED mounted directly on top that MIGHT cause a hotspot. We use the 6 LED "bulbs" so that there is NO top mounted LED. Therefore, no potential hotspot. Pic below.

WLED-xHP6 Wedge Base Bulb
Miniature Wedge Base Bulb (194/168 type)with 6 High Power LEDs
12 Volt AC/DC, 360 Viewing Angle
$ 4.95 each
