Thanks for the information mhulslan! I knew their had to be something stated somewhere however my laziness gets the best of me sometimes. Hopefully you have no problems with this guy removing your picture. Good Luck.

Thanks for the welcome to the board. I have been following for quite some time. This is by far the most technical LS1 forum I have been too. Tons of great information, an excellent learning tool to the novice but aspiring mechanic aka: ME, and of course members who are never hesitant to share their expieriencs and knowledge maturely. I hope to be able to contribute more in the future as I learn myself.

I looked into this guy some more... its pretty disturbing. He is selling a "fan switch mod" which is a sheet of paper with instructions on how to put a switch on your fan. His "computer chip" is a cheap SLP air temp module (resistor that cost $.50). I dont really know what his other two mods consist of (tb bypass and skip shift). If you read the feedback even the positive ones were complaining.

http://www.ls1.com/fanmod.htm

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...tem=1859728092

The ebay item and the page from ls1.com are word for word describing how the fan mod works. I would be willing to bet I I bought that mod that it would be a printout from ls1. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Mad]" src="gr_images/icons/mad.gif" />

Never underestimate the power of a firm yet polite request <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" />

Welcome to the board LastHawk <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" />

Maybe I should get my car copyrighted.. <img border="0" alt="[jester]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_jest.gif" /> Nah, then I would paint a big copyrighted logo on the quarter panel or something <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" />

That was cool of the guy to remove your pic. I'm sure he meant no harm by using it.

If I were you, I would have let him use it. Sure, it's a stupid product and people might be pissed at you for representing a shitty product but when they came up to you cryin, you could just laugh at them. And tell them how stupid they were for buying it.

There's no harm for you to represent camaros on eBay.

There's no such thing as bad publicity, right? <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" />

I would personally think it's cool.

this guy is a total rip off! a copied instructions and a 30 cent diode for 9 bucks and charging 5 bucks shipping when he used a 37 cent stamp, what a great scam! <img border="0" title="" alt="[Roll Eyes]" src="images/icons/rolleyes.gif" />

the TB bypass is just as bad! Man I should sell the "free" mods too <img border="0" title="" alt="[Roll Eyes]" src="images/icons/rolleyes.gif" />

Well we see it as a "rip off" but to people that dont know (or are too lazy to research online) then he is providing a service.. Its capatilism at its best.. His HP gains are a bit skewed but how many HUGE performance companies advertise high HP gains.. 10rwhp from a ported TB.. 5hp from a timing ticker.. etc..

Its not something i would sell but the term "caviot emptor" (sp?) comes to mind.. nobody makes anyone bid.. lol

They send me a nice email.. here it is:

"I'm sorry, I didn't think anyone would mind me using it. It has been
removed, so as to trouble you no further. Let me know if I can do anything
else for you. Thanks"

So while he maybe be selling free stuff to people he seems like a decent enough person. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" />

This guy is a con man! He's already switched his user ID once that I know of. I bought the skip shift elimanator from him and I got the .50 cent "radio Shack" resistor and some instructions that were pics probably copied from one of the tech boards. After I got it I emailed him and explained that I was wanting an actual skip shift eliminator and not just a resistor and I wanted to return it he refused. I offered to eat the shipping charge and he still wouldn't agree. He almost got my $15 but my credit card company cancelled the payment. It pisses me off when people like him goes to the boards and takes info that members have posted as free info for budget mods and then tries to profit by it.
