How well will leather on the plastics hold up over time? I wanted to do this a while back although I was told that the leather will fall off after a while.

LOL, is that like being opposed to being more classy? Cause leather definetly give a higher end car feel over GM's joke of a interior made completely from plastic.

I have my specialized stainless kit ready and rearin to go, i just wanna finish my 6le seat install first.

I am kinda upset to hear this isnt gonna be as stretchy as it might need to be. Ive wrapped stuff before (carpet/vinyl), and i have had issues with vinyl that isnt pliable enough, but this stuff does seem better than what i had.. I am gonna reread vikings thread, now that its been brought back up, but can anyone throw some more info out there about the more stretchy vinyl? (ie, where to get it, pics, comparison)

PM Sent. I suppose even though S. S. sells only one way stretch, they are still competing with a sponsor, so I kept their name out of the thread.

I don't think I would get in trouble for saying that the brand is All-Stretch. It can be found somewhat cheap if you look and comes in a lot of colors.

Edit...
Here is a link to give you an idea about the material.

I understand about being opposed to leather. There is a legitimate concern to be had. However, we are using faux leather, so the moral implications don't really hold on this one.

I've had my t-top apart to fix a (major) leak. There is a little clip that holds the handle on, pull that out and the handle pops off. Two screws (one on each end) of the t-top come off, then the plastic can be pulled back and pops right off.

For the A-pillars, you need to take off the two screws at the t-top latch area. Then I found to get them off I pulled the upper part toward the back of the car to unclip it, then gradually went down the A-pillar, pulling down and out as I went. I forget exactly which direction the clips go in, but it will become apparent as you go. Don't force it, it does take a little oomph but it is apparent whether you're going the right direction or not.

I give you guys props for doing this! It looks great!

I really don't think I could undertake a project like this. Maybe one day though...

What do you guys think about covering the headliner in this stuff? Would it hold up or sag because it is heavy?

The headliner will depend on a few things. If it is the factory fiberglass weave, I wouldn't try it. However, mine is one of the aftermarket ABS plastic pieces. Here is what I plan on doing:
With a weakish staple gun, put staples through from the underside and leave them as barbs on the topside. Lay the glue down and stretch the vinyl just enough to keep it taught on the headliner and "poke" all of the barbs from the staples through the top side of the headliner (about 3 inches in). Continue the glue right up to the staples. Where the staples meet the vinyl, fold them flat. If you use enough staples to keep the pressure somewhat even on the vinyl, I don't see a reason why they wouldn't hold it up indefinitely. The glue would mostly be a precaution, the staples being the primary means of holding the headliner smooth and taught. I hope that makes sense, when all is said and done, no one would ever see the staples because they would be under the roof hardware. Mine is a TTop car though. I don't know how well this would work on a solid roof car.
I hope this helps some, good luck either way!

Yeah, my headliner was too trashed to recover, so I had to swallow the $200 for the damned thing.

Viking, you know by know how much I respect your opinion on all things interior. I think I am going to try the vinyl anyway though. I believe it will give the look continuity that a fabric, or even something as nice as alcantara might nit be able to. Just my opinion on this though. I know Valhalla will be angry with me for disagreeing with your design style, but I'll face that when the time comes!

Here a comparo of the tahoe endurex vinyl ( left side) to leatherseats.com graphite vinyl ( right ride ) . Endurex looks much nicer imo . Both are around the same cost .
