Default Porter cable in direct sunlight?

I will hopefully be getting the menzerna + porter cable kit from autogeek sometime, but it says not to use it in direct sunlight. The problem is, I don't have a useable garage to do it in. What will happen if I DO polish in direct sunlight? Any ideas on what I could do to get out of the light?

Any kind of cover would help. I have worked in direct sunlight many many times without problems. Just much easier on you and the vehicle if you have some shade.

its NOT the direct sunlight thats bad. its the surface temp. of the paint that matters. its just that usually people detail in the summer, and in direct sun, surface temp. can easily hit 120+. you can apply anything in blazing sunshine if the surface temp. is only 60.

Excellent point. We will soon be in the high 90's or 100's here. I try not to work on any car in that heat, no matter the color. Just finished a silver X5 a hour ago and have a nice red mark on my arm from the sunroof and its 75 degrees.

I guess I should park under a canopy the night before so it wont get hot, then. No matter what its going to get hot, though.
