anyone used vinyl dye? painted door panels?
i was thinking instead of buying new ebony door panels, i would take mine apart, re wrap the leather, and use vinyl dye on the rest.
I saw corvette america makes some that uses a primer first, is said to outlast the car, ive heard really good things about it.
anyone used it? products like it?
also thinking about just dying the headlier/visors too.
thought on that?

That is a really good deal and will save you a TON of work. However, should you choose to use the vinyl dye, I just used SEM's Landau Black on the leather inserts yesterday and the result is magnificent. The Landau color matches the Ebony seats perfectly.
About $10 for a can, then hours of work to wrap and do everything else. SEM is really trusted on here for a reason. It is a great product. It will work on the headliner and visors too.
$125 is something to consider for the doors. They look pretty damned good.

i picked up the corvette dye from ecklers. it has a proprietary primer that is said to be almost 100% scratch and fade resistant when used with the matching dye. Im gonna give it a try on some samlple materials. Ill def. check out the sem stuff too. It seems a lot cheaper than the Ecklers stuff. Think i paid almost $40 with shipping for a can of the primer and can of the paint.
Says only one coat is needed with the primer though.
Ill post pics at the end of the week/weekend when i do the project. its gonna rain for the next 4 days here, so im stuck till then.

I used the vinyl die that pepboys sells, Just cleaned it down real good with brake cleaner, then wiped it with wax, grease remover. I did this to my cutlass back in 2001 and it still is holding up great! I did it to my Jimmy back in 2004/05 is it is also holding up great, looks like it was that was from the factory! It's in all how you prep it. I did the dash, door panels, and every panel. Only thing I had to redo once was the arm rest from constantly being touched and leaned on, but factory dies will do that too
