First off, congratulations! Bein' a Poppa is wonderful! I'm happy for you.

I'm living proof, though, that child-seats do indeed fit in F-bodies. Infant seats are no problem whatsoever, and the bigger ones still fit...it's just that your wife will have to sit w/her knees in her mouth.

Way to take one for the team. You can get car seats into a Z28 though. I've seen it done. It's not a good idea though IMO. You're better off with a big SUV or something.

Spin 'em once for you? ****, I'll burn 'em off the rims!

Congrats on becoming a papa, but the excuse that a child seat doesn't fit is lame. My buddy has a newborn and has a infant seat in the back of his SS. Granted we all make fun of him, but it fits. So your wife needs a better excuse.

Don't become one of these people, that as soon as a bun pops out of the oven you MUST get a Minivan/SUV! That drives me nuts! My sister carted around THREE kids in a car (Granted it wasn't a Camaro) and when the fourth was born THEN got a Suburban.

Heck, I even ordered extra Recaro material so I can have the kid seat upholstered to match

There are even tie down loops in the back for a child seat.. its not like a baby needs leg room.. lol

Good luck and congrats..

From a safety standpoint, it's probably not the best idea, but it can be done... My friend has a seat in his WS6....

My two kids ride in my convertible SS EVERY morning. My hardtop had a bit more room, but they still fit in the vert. Hell last year me the wife and the kids went to Tampa for a week in my hardtop. No sweat. Tell her the baby will fit.

Dont do it....when you get a chance to get out of the house and want to blow off some steam and all you have is a mini-van.....ouch, not much steam there. If you have to dump the SS then tell the wife you need an M5 !
By the way....CONGRATS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

you shouldnt get rid of it thats . my bro has a z28 and has new baby(2 months)he just had his girlfriend sit in the back with the baby. most mothers do it anyways. just to take care of the baby along the trip. so dont get rid of it unless you want to.... just my opinion. oh and also if you get rid of it what will but a big a$$ grin on his/her face??? Z28/mini-van

Car seat fit in my old '95 Z28 and my new '02 Firehawk. My kid is 3 years old and still fits fine when she has to - including with the wife in the front seat.

Camaro's and Firebird's have better crash ratings than most SUV's.

Also, my 3 year old tells me all the time about how much she *loves* my car. Even out of the blue sometimes. We'll be walking through the grocery store, and she say "Daddy, I just love your car". She now makes fun of pbpbpbpbpbffft ricer exhausts and loves the rumble of my car. She's already said when she gets big enough, she wants a car that sounds like mine

See if you can talk the wife out of it, I really enjoy talking cars with my little girl!

Dont' do it!! My daughter was 5 when we got the 30th, and I now have a 5 month old, the buckets for TA are even smaller, if they fit in mine, they'll definitley fit in yours! Tell her she can be the soccer mom, but the Z stays. And yes, they are waaay safer than most SUVs.

F-bodies are one of the few passenger cars that have a five star rating in each front, side, and rear impact ratings. Also, a cute baby in a hot car is a chick magnet. MAKE SURE your wife isn't in the car, though...

98TAAuto knows how to put a child seat in an f-body. I believe if you remove the rear bucket seat it will work without a problem.

I have a todler seat in my 98 TA. Fits fine. Every now and then when My wife babysits our nephew we have the todler seat and a carrier in the back. Tight fit but they do fit.

I say if its gonna be your only car (which is the TA is ours), make it a good one.
