Wow didn't know I'd get this kind of response from you all. I would think it would be much differant than putting 35th le stripes on a non 02 car, or bb stripes like I have on a non blackbird car. I don't like them on the fenders, that's why I was wondering what they might look like over the key hole

I have them on my '00 Trans Am, and I don't care what people say. It's no different than putting ZR1 or Z06 rims on a Camaro or Bird, the rims clearly state they are for ZR1s and Z06s, but nobody has a problem with that. Or painting a Trans Am rear bumper like a CETA bumper, that clearly is for the 2002 Collectors Edition Trans Am. We could go on and on.

Put them on. I love the looks and spirit of these "Last of the Breed" badges.

What IS off limits:
  • Slapping WS6 or SS badges on a Firebird/Trans Am or Camaro Z28, respectively. This includes instances in which a hood and spoiler are added.
  • Z28 badges on a V6.
  • Decking out your Trans Am or Camaro to look like a Firehawk/Collectors Edition Trans Am or 35th Anniversary SS.

However, the above might change with time. Take note of how Challenger R/T clones, Hemi-Cuda clones, GT-350 clones, and several others are perfectly acceptable within the collector car world. But as for right now, not cool.

I think in the end, most reasonable people will frown upon 'misrepresentation of performance' rather than 'misrepresentation of year.' The latter is true in this case, especially since you're only off by a year. I might have a slightly different opinion if, for example, you had a '93-'97 'Bird. But you don't. DO NOT, however, under any circumstances, place these badges over your keyholes.

On my 35th LE, I have the 6LE grille which has the old-school SS emblem from a '69 Camaro/Chevelle - which I believe falls into the same category as your intents and purposes.

They would look good, idk about over the key hold though. I don't really like badges there. Just my opinion. As for the 2002 thing..who cares it's your car if you like the badge put it on. It's close enough

Not key holes on door, key hole for hatch. I don't care for them on the side of the car

I know what you meant. I've just seen camaros that put SS over the key hole and fill it in and a few other things and I haven't liked any of them so far.

i didnt like the key hole either, so i shaved it, repainted it, and then added some custom decals. it looks much cleaner than stock yet still has a very stock appearance.

If you must do it, I sort of like the keyhole idea.

Personally though, I don't think they belong on anything other than a '02, as CLEARLY stated on the certificate. That being said, I think no matter WHAT year they're on, they look tacky as hell on the fender.

Removing badges looks good.....not ADDING them.
