Refinished my Rims The rims that came with my car had terrible curb rash, pit marks and imperfections. I had been tossing around the idea of buying new rims but decided to refinish them myself. I think they turned out ok. Had sanded the curb rash and pits. Took me like 5 days to get them how I wanted them.
They are not clean as it just rained this mornin so they have water spots and dirt on them that's why it seems as if they have imperfections (They dont its the over cast lighting). I did put wheel finish protection coating on them. I used an Air compressor and gun, no rattle can.

Most of the time a good skuff with a scotch pad and some primer then some color and then clear will give you a nice job,,,, but chrome paint doesnt like to stick to,,, but if you scuff it up good it sometimes sticks ok,, but can flake off if gets any wear.
I was watching that show on spike last weekend called "Muscle Car" budget builds episode where they painted the middle of a set of 5 spoke Foose chrome wheels and he used a adhesion promoter and a certain type of paint,,, check on the net you might be able to download that episode.
