Default Clean Front License Plate Setup

I just got smog ref'd yesterday, and the cops only reason for pulling me over was having no front license plate. And this bastard said he would be looking for my car from now on so I'd better change it (this guy was a real *****, be happy you don't live in California)

So anyways, I want to put a license plate up front so I don't get big tickets for petty BS anymore, What's the cleanest look to putting a plate on the front of a Firebird/Trans Am

Thanks

Ouch, where's this? I've not had a front plate since '00 and never gotten pulled over for it. (Edit: I'm in the bay area as well)

Afterthoughts has the clear cover.

I have it and think they look great, if you have to have a front plate.

I just got one of these too. I went with the blemished one for about $40 and it was perfect. I honestly can't see one single flaw in it. Just something to keep in mindif you're debating between the blem or regular one.

^ This

I've got the non-motorized version, was only $50 from a local Corvette shop.

Instructions tell you to drill into the underneath of the bumper, which I know is a problem for some people, but some industrial double-sided tape should do the trick, just be careful not to scrape the front bumper or you risk tearing the plate off.

Only thing about that setup is I want to drive around with the plate up the whole time and I think they look horrible when it's up...

damn. sucks for you. i haven't had a license plate up front for 4 years and no issues with it from anywhere in
the bay. what are the odds you're gonna see the *** again? if you'll likely see him, then i guess you should do
something. if you don't really think you'll see him again, i'd take my chances without it.

-what actually happened? ticket? warning? nothing but words?

-what do you have up front now? is it just the empty hole, or do you have the license plate filler bird and all? if
you just have the empty hole, it is very easy to look at the car and realize, "he has no front license plate", where
as when you have it all filled and painted body color, you don't really notice that anythings missing, so you're less
likely to get hassled for it.

food for thought...

The non-motorized version that you slide manually is only $50.

What happened: I was coming down the hill, and this guy was baby sitting his buddies accident. I was about 150 feet away from him and he starting running straight for his car and caught up with me about two blocks later (yes I booked down some side streets trying to ditch him) I asked why he stopped me and he said I had no front plate and my car was loud, then he asked if I had a "cold air setup or anything like that" and before I could answer he asked me to pop my hood. Then he found all the "goodies" (oil breather cap, MSD plug wires, Spray Painted lid and no MAF- this retard missed the FAST intake, headers, heads everything!) Anyways ticket was for modified emissions..

But how does that one work, do you pull it on and off by YOUR hand, or is it operated by a cable from the inside of car.

Not trying to be a dick or anything, but what else would "manually" mean? Your pulling the plate up and pushing it back under the car YOURSELF!

Check out the vid I posted in my first post in this thread, it shows how the plate slides up and down.
