Switched power for gauge lights?

Switched power for gauge lights? I was wondering where or how it would be best to wire for power for my Autometer gauge lights. I thought I had tapped into a wire under the dash that was supposed to be for when you turned the lights on, but its not, they are on all the time. Its been like this now for a few years, and while I'm sure it isn't really stressing the LEDs any, well I'm messing with the car tomorrow and would like to wire it up so when I turn the lights on the gauge lighting comes on. What is the best solution for this?

Tap into the wire that is underthe center console that houses the light bulb for the ash tray. That light bulb only turns on when The headlights or corners are on so just Tap into that wire. That's mY plan when I get my triplle gauge pillar

You can tap into the white parking light wire. I saw one yesterday, its located just above and to the left of the drivers feet under the dash on LT1 cars.
