Default Question on '01 vs. newer OEM Z06 wheel

Is there an immediate way to identify an '01 wheel from a newer one without having anything to compare it to???

I know it's forged and supposed to be darker and the edges sharper and the spokes thinner but that's kind of hard to tell without a newer wheel beside it. Or is it?

Factory painted ones, btw.

Thanks

What wheels are you talking about ZO6 are a light black rim. Are you talking about Y2K C-5 rims, or c-5 crome vs. c-5 mags.

Sorry, I posted it in the header but I'll try again.

1. Stock painted GM Z06 wheels.....the 01's are forged versus cast spun for the newer ones.

2. The 01's are a darker gray than the newer ones.

3. The 01's spokes are slightly thinner and have sharper edges than the newer ones likely owed to the forging.

4. The 01's, being forged, can be polished after removing the paint whereas the cast ones would probably not have a good surface under the paint to polish.

My question is if I'm buying '01 wheels but don't have a newer wheel to compare the color, spokes, and edges...is there any sure fire way to tell that they are '01s?
