This is what Steve did for his 2000 SS. The only thing I did differently is I cut a bigger hole so that I could fit the entire connector plugs through, that way I would not have to cut or solder anything.

Looks good, how about mine? 
By Summer time, it will look much better. I have to finish my FRCs, get a couple things covered in CF, get stainless steel bolts/washers and polished MBA caps..
