I have been wanting a different hood and not wanting to spend 1000 to get it then get it painted. It looks like this will be the one. If this is one that uses pins how easy or hard would it be for someone to just come up and pop the pins and steal it. That would really suck.

My guess would be that if your car is a daily driver, dont get the pin only type hood. It would be so easy for someone to just walk up and take your hood.

As far as sweeping the scoop back, it's possible and it should have a slight lip/overhang, but not to the point where it makes contact with the windshield.

The main issues will be to have an aggressive hood scoop that blends in with the lines of the car, that is not too far forward, that does not suddenly drop off out back, and that does not have harsh lines anywhere...

I'd be in for a lift off SS hood, do we have an est. on the price? <img border="0" alt="[devil]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_devil.gif" />

01 Ws6 owner here and thought i would just put in my own .02 so here it is... i think that post of the camaro by SSG is beautiful. but i dont like the looks of the 4" cowl for the ws6.. maybe this is because no pics are posted of it installed.
IMO the slp hood for ws6 is the best route.. great hood and adds elegance.. but i understand the need for "beef"
nice work on the hood thoguh prostock... took some time and patience i could only imagine.

The one thing that is missing from the ZL1 hood in the pic is those two "bumps" or "ridges" that stream back from the headlights (2 on each side) that is on the Z28 and SS hoods already.
You camaro guys will know what I am talking about. That being present will make it look ALOT better.
The ZL1 hood in the pics is flat on each side.
That's what's been bothering me! Add the bumps and it'll look awesome.

I found another picture of the ZL1 concept. It looks better from this angle, but I still don't like it. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" />

I also agree that the headlight "humps" in the hood are a must! But the big scoop is great! Without the "humps" it'll look just like an oversized 96SS hood...

That last pic doesn't seem to work.
Be sure not to put the ridges in the 93-97 version <img border="0" title="" alt="[Razz]" src="gr_tounge.gif" />

What about this one? No one seems to remember it
<img src="http://a8.cpimg.com/image/F8/E6/14474488-c324-01B5013D-.jpg" alt=" - " />
Personally I always loved it....very clean and simple. I never found the underside pics but it was a functional hood too.
I know GM made the car and it went on the Power Tour in 1997 but thats the last I have ever seen of it.
