Need 18 inch zo6 Wheel help
Thanx john
Another thing is that there's almost an 11% difference between the 275/40/17 and 295/45/18. That may pose problems with your ABS on the street. Also, I guess it MIGHT fit on the back at stock ride height but chances are slim to none that you could lower it with that tall a tire. That's stock size for the Phord Lightning if you want to see how big that is.
Which tire are you thinking about on the rear? Nitto 555 Extreme?
What are you trying to accomplish...appearance or launching ability?
Launch---Buy some WS6 rims and some 275/40/17 Nitto DR's
Looks---C5's with 275/35or40/18 or Z06 with 295/35/18 Pick a tire, just no drag radials.

The lower the sidewall of the tier the less traction you'll get.
Now for handling, that is a different story. 18"s are then killers.
So the choices are do you want traction or handling, there are intermediates, but 18"s are for handling.
If you go 18" x 9.5" use a 275/35ZR18 tire and the 18" x 10.5" 295/35ZR18 tire. That is what I run front and rear and the car is a barnstormer on the curves, but straight line . . . <img border="0" alt="[Burnout]" title="" src="graemlins/burnout.gif" />
I'm currently running 285/35/18 in the rear on a 18X10.5 rim with eibach pro. Now that I've got everything ready I'm going to go with a 295/35/18 in the near futire. I didn't have to use any spacers but it was a good bit of work to get it to drive without scrubbng again, adj. panhard, tubular control arms and a little ball ping hammering. That said I don't see anyway possible without some serious modifications to get a 295/45/18 back there and lower your car. You're talking about a setup that is about 1.5" inches taller than mine now plus a little wider. You MAY be able to get away with it at stock height but I don't know of anyone who's running that size so I can't say for sure.

Scroll down, I have a few before and after pics.
I have 2" Intrax drop with 275/35/18's on the back. No spacing and stock panhard bar for over a year. I cut 2.100 short times at OSW on those 18's, M6...
