It is truly a shame HRE rims cost so much. I would love to have a set on my car but due to the fact a set can drop into the 3 to 4000 dollar range...think of all of the mods that could be done to an engine such as heads, cams, etc., etc..Don't get me wrong though, I wouldn't pass up on a set of HRE's!

I like it. But it seems that HREs always look smaller than they really are because of the extra layer of rivets surrounding the spokes. Just glancing at your car they kinda look like 17s. Also the spokes do look a little thick like someone else said.

If I were you, I would go with the 547s full polish (thinner spokes, highlight the brakes more) and do a 18 front/ 19 rear combo <img border="0" title="" alt="[Cool]" src="gr_images/icons/cool.gif" /> . My .02

I don't like those wheels, especially because of the rivets. Your Z06 wheels look sweet, but if you have the 4 grand burning a hole in your pocket (I wish I had that problem) then the Fikse FM5s are the way to go.

SWEEEET. Ive got 10 people in the room and they all think the 545's are the best looking. Nice choice. Thats what im getting when i save up like $943758439 bucks. I woulda gotton them withthe black HRE logo center caps. Nice wheels man

NOOOOOO! Nice wheels but not on your car as most people have said.

Nothing wrong with polished or chrome wheels but with so much silver/pewter in there, you need something to set it off. The lines of the 545's don't seem to achieve that.

The Z06 wheels, although common, have enough interesting angles that they are pleasing to the eyes. To further enhance that, you keep them spotless.

Although it's ultimately your decision, if you're gonna spend the big bucks, consider veering off the beaten path and go with a stand-out color or at least design. Any car's gonna look nice with a set of $5000 wheels but you want yours to stand out, right?

There's nothing stating you have to have new wheels tomorrow so take a week and don't even think about it and then go back and look at some different choices.

I know for the $1500 or less market, the choices are pretty slim but if you can afford to go custom built and custom colors, there really are alot of companies out there besides the usual HRE or Fikse.

Have you considered something like the Kinesis K28 or K58 with dark gray centers or even a gold(has to be the right gold). Something like the Porsche in the 1st and 3rd set of pics.

Something to look at. Just don't get a set of HRE's or whatever thinking that the name automatically makes a statement for your car. They have to LOOK <img border="0" title="" alt="[Eek!]" src="gr_eek2.gif" /> and <img border="0" alt="[pimp]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_pimp.gif" /> and <img border="0" title="" alt="[Cool]" src="gr_images/icons/cool.gif" /> !

The gold doesn't look good in that picture but it's really hard to tell unless you actually have the wheel. Lighting is the key when trying to match parts from two different pictures but you did a good job.

The gold looked good on the Porsche IMO and it looked very close to our Pewter. I like odd matches that standout, that look good but that you don't normally see. Kinda like SOME of the SS's I've seen on here like the white one and hugger orange one with black centers and polished lips.

I wonder if you can get any of the Kinesis in a full polish or if they have custom colors. You could then color match at home and then have them color the wheels.

Weasel, they make the wheels for each individual customer, so you tell them what you want, and they will make it, period. It is obviously gonna be more expensive, but you get what you want/pay for! <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" /> BTW, those wheels on that car look awesome!

Im not a fan of the Z06 rims, nver was.. makes the car look to weird IMO. But i think the HRE 845R's would be extremely nice on an SS.. im saving my money for them. plus.. anything is beter than TT2's <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" />

Z06 wheels are too common, even though they look good. I think those 545s are nice wheels, but don't look *right* on that car. I also prefer thinner spokes.

If you are set on HRE, I'd definitely go with the 541s, they will have the same appeal as your Z06 wheels, but look much nicer.

Don't overlook the chrome y2k C5 rims. 18's all around would look very nice. The thin spokes would show off your wilwood brakes nicely. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" />
You could get the SS stickers for the center caps too. Once again, somewhat common but classic nonetheless.

I might be going out on a limb here, but if he already has chrome ZO6s all the way around, and wants to upgrade, I doubt he'd be looking for thin spoke C5 rims. <img border="0" alt="[pimp]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_pimp.gif" />
