Those, from what I understand, are Sonar's 1st gen lights. They use H1 projectors, I think the cutoff is pretty decent.

I think the center light is out of place looking and doesn't flow with the car well.

Do these ebay kits come with all the bulbs and stuff? It's hard to tell from the item descriptions.

I have read in many threads that these projectors are very nice, although it looks like the rubber might suck ***. I think the best option is the stock replicas on ebay because the lens and rubber is about the same quality as stock (I bought one a while back).

Sometimes. My Eagle Eyes did, my current Sonars came with the H1 low beam but none for the high beam (which was OK as it used a 9005 bulb like stock). Typically, if they use any bulb other than what the car came with, they include bulbs.

But heck, when getting projectors, put HIDs in them

I think I'm going to get these ones. Are the halos easy to hook up? The description says they wire right into the parking lights. I wish I could get ones with red halos though.

I agree. When I bought my Sonars, it was a package deal on eBay which included 6000k HIDs and the ballasts.

I don't necessarily trust the package deals. They could be some really crappy HID kits.

Those are the same headlights I have. They work well with HID. H1 bulb.

I got my HID kit from the seller supervtec on ebay they are the slim digital ballast Xentec ones. I've heard good about ddm tuning but last I checked they were backordered, or something... just giving another option. I've had mine for a couple years now.

My buddy had those on his SS before trading it in on a 2011 RS and they didn't really look that great. His did come with bulbs but he didn't use them as he had just ordered HID's too. The projector/HID combo was cool as hell at night but during the day I just couldn't dig 'em. I can say that while installing them though, they did feel pretty nice; the housing fit perfectly, the wheatherstripping was decent, and they had a good weight to them. Post pics when and if you get them OP.

Okay now you guys talked me into getting the HIDs. What bulb type do I select? And is 6000k a good choice?

H1 bulbs. I prefer 5000k over 6000k, I've had them both. 5000k is a little whiter and a little better visibility.

I wouldnt go over 6k in bulb temp. I have the same sets 6000k on my nissan xterra and my ss, and one set has more blue in the color, and in my ss they are white but the cutoff band has lots of blue/purple. Once you start going over 5/6k your just getting more color less output.

just a few hints........on my xterra the opening in the bowl would not accept the HID bulb...I had to dremel it to make it fit. I had the lights open, and the projector out so no big deal. There is a certain way the bulb fits, and on my ss it was VERY tight. You cant force it. Look how the halogen bulbs sit in there and angle the HID the same way. Once you get the HID in, you will have to bend the clips that hold it in. Easiest thing for me is to install the HIDs while the headlights are off the car. I cut and bigger hole in rubber cap that seals the back of the projector up, and ran all my wiring through it.
