I put CCFL's in my Xterra's housings. I tried using a glue gun but ended using automotive adhesive. The real CCFLs doesnt have any tabs on the back it just lays there flat. Most likely your gonna have to open them up to get an approx measurement.

Here is a comparison of the LED cheap halo, and a real CCFL

housing as it came.....

housing after paint, and CCFLs...

daytime on....

Those are tight. Do you just rtv them in place or do they snap in somehow?

The halos that come with the lights have tabs that go through the housing, and then they are hot glued in. The CCFLs dont have a tab, they just lay in there, I tried hot glue but they vibrated loose 2 or 3 times on me....after that I used a clear automotive adhesive, used sparingly on top, bottom, left and right to hold it in evenly. You may find a better way but thats how I did mine.

Does it have to be a high temp adhesive or do the halos stay pretty cool?

I used a general automotive adhesive by loctite. It has worked fine for me....if you can get high temp in clear might as well be safe then sorry...you dont want to have to open them back up. I found that if you apply the adhesive, and use a hairdryer/fan on cool that it makes the glue get stickier faster...once u used the fan for a 30 secs or so then put the halo on.

One thing that is gonna **** you off, is once you heat the headlights up, and start opening them up, the weather stripping is gonna start to come off....maybe it wont with you but did with me. You can try glueing it back on but I used black gorrilla tape.
