You already have the idea. Just cut, then make sure to use a sealant to keep the water out. The problem you will run into is not having anything to direct the light correctly like the LMC housings. I have "cut and pasted" sealed beams right now with xenon bulbs and they work well, but for HIDs, these housings are a much better choice.

Damn transsam nice info. I wanted the projector retros, but I wasn't sure if I liked them the more I looked. Sweet find! I'll have to try those next time.

Personally, I'd match the colors. I think it gives it more of an "it came that way" look. Also, it will make a difference on the outcome of the color whether you are going with 35w or 55w.

I wouldn't risk it on the fogs, but from what I understand, it shouldn't be a problem on the LMC housings. They are metal. The "halo optional" housings on ebay are metal and will take the 55s with no problem.

Yeah, fogs are 880. I think he might have been referring to your question about the dual in/out ballasts.
I would match the colors. I went with 6000K lows and fogs and it was exactly what I was looking for. It's not too white and not too blue.
The cutoff in the LMC housings are great compared to stock. Stock first, then LMC. Those are the lights that come in the LMC housings.

wow what a difference between the stockers and the lmc housings.. imagine with hids!
i was thinking of getting the fogs 35w 6000 and lows 55w 8000k , heard somewhere that the 55w 8000 look like the 35w 6000 just a lot brighter..
so the lows are 9006 for the lmc housings right..?
im about to order them from ddm tuning

Personally, I am probably going to stick with the 35w version for the fogs and the lows. For the highs, nothing. The vast majority of people choose against high beam HIDs. The lights don't like to be flickered quickly or often. Just get a good halogen for the highs.
