Interior help (seats) i have a 98 z28 with tan (Neutral) leather seats and my driver seat is tearing really bad it seems alomost impossible to find just a driver seat do any of you guys know were i can get factory seat covers or does anybody have a driver seat for sale
there is a guy on ebay, his name or store name is rubik818 he makes new and has some oretty good original replacement parts. This is where I get mine for my 98. If you don't see what you want shoot him an email. Looks like he gets a lot of cars so you might have to wait a week or two because tan seems to be not as popular as Ebony or Gray. Good Luck!!
I am almost done repairing a couple small tears in my drivers seat and will be posting a how-to in a couple days, if you want to go that route. It's a bit of work but saves a lot of money. I fixed some abrasions in my passenger seat over a year ago and no one can tell where it was fixed.
The usual stuff. Passenger seat outside bolster had the color scuffed off and rough abrasions in the leather, no tears. That's why I did it first. Turned out great and has held up well for over a year in the hot South GA sun (and its a vert).
I just started on the drivers seat this weekend. Same area, outside bolster, but in addition to the abrasions, 2 small tears along the seam, and another tear along the side near the shoulder where a little screw holds the back piece to the side. I haven't downloaded my camera pics yet or I would post them. I pulled the seat cover loose on one side so I could sew the tears back together and glue a patch for extra strength. I am just applying the leather repair stuff now to smooth out the area and apply the dye. Repair kit is like $60 but it comes with dye that is already color matched to factory colors. I should be finished either tonight or tomorrow and I will have the how-to done in a couple days.

Size of the tear doesn't really matter with a good kit. If you can get a patch behind it to hold the tear together for extra strength, just apply the stuff from the kit to smooth over the repair and then dye it. You can check out the site and see where people used it for repairing tears in couches and such. It's called Magic Mender. I had my doubts when I first tried it, but it works great. Check out their site and see what you think. I will be posting the how-to in this forum in a couple of days. You can check it out and decide if you want to try it or not.
