Default Detailing black trim

What do you guys like to use to detail exterior black trim? Just bought a new truck black on black with a lot of black plastic trim. Just want to make it look good without seeing it run in dirrect sun like some products do.

I use VRT from Adam's Polish's. They just came out with a new formula that holds up better to water and the morning dew.

Default restore black plastic

First clean the part as good as you can. Use maybe dawn soap and some water and thoroughly rinse it off. Then take a heat gun and run it over the plastic trim back and forth and do not let it get too hot or too close! You can end up melting the plastic or the paint or parts around it!!! Its best if you can remove the part and then take the heat gun to it but if not just be extremely careful. After running heat over it for a while it will restore the plastic back to showroom condition. Its a simple procedure, just don't rush it, take your time

Test this process on a spot that is not seen first so you can see how it will look before you do it to the whole thing!

Bondo Restore Black, get it at any car parts store or wal mart. This is by far the best product I have used. It works more like a paint than an oil, truly restoring the trim's original color. Easy to apply as well.

Wash and dry like normal - if there is wax build up, try some IPA and some agitation.

Then try this:

You can find it at your local autoparts stores.

There are tons of products out there - you may have to try several until you get the results you want.

Good Luck!
