You dont have to remove the seats.
Remove glove box, center console a pillars, radio, ac panel, dash pad, instrument cluster, and all the footwell panels. Remove bolts that secure steering column to dash cage - this will let the column hang down a few inches so you can actually get the dash out. Remove all the little 9/32 bolts on the upper and lower portions of the dash, which you can now see because of everything you removed. Remove Dash

Ive pulled dashes out of these cars many times, and once you do it a few times its really not terrible. Just take your time and dont force anything.

Thanks for the info. About how many hours to do a swap? How did you handle the airbags? Considering leaving them out.

Unhook the battery, and unhook the airbag module just behind the shifter. I wouldnt remove them, they will save your life. I can get the dash out in under an hour, but ive done it many times. Id set aside at least a few hours.

Why are you removing the whole dash though?

to drain the remaining voltage in the airbags, disconnect the battery and take the (disconnected) power cables and touch them together for a min. this will drain the capacitors.

It isn't hard IF you don't have any plans on keeping the old dash. I took a pair of bolt cutters to my old dash and went to work. The dash came out in probably 100 pieces, but removal took less than a half hour - work went faster because the pillars, stereo, front dash and console were already out.
Bottom line, if you don't plan on keeping the old dash, bolt cutters, pliers and a box cutter are good friends!

Nope. Pull the A Pillars, then VERY carefully lift up on the dash pad. It could be fragile from time and heat.other than that, it is simply held in place by velcro

If you are doing the work yourself, I have heard they are mostly interchangeable. If yo are having a dealar/shop do it, make sure they agree to the work prior to purchasing the new dash (hard to come by).

The service manuals break up the years 93-95, 96-99, and 00-02 as not interchangeable, and some shops/dealers refuse to do the work then.
