Default removing 00' Z28 headlight lens?

Is it possible to gain access to the lens area around the bulbs by separating the clear plastic cover from the reflector/bulb housing? I want to paint everything, except the reflectors of course, the same color as the body of the car.

It seems to be sealed with a very strong adhesive. I may try some acetone around the edges to weaken the bond.

BE careful- the acetone will destroy the plastic. Don't get any on the clear lens part.
