Rear Tail Panel I have seen a few 4th ge SS's with a black rear tail panel. I no on the 1st gens when u bought a big block SS, the tail panel was flat black, but since there isn't a big block option for the 4th gen, 1, what does it mean and 2, how did they get it this way? I was thinking of going to the salvage yard and getting 1 from a black SS or black 4th gen and swapping my SS badges to it. Anyone no what's up? Thanks.

gmmg started doing it on there specialty cars and the masses started copying it.
i had a gloss black panel(see sig pic)with ss inserts but got tired of it so i went back to my body color one.
i have a panel in perfect condition if you want it 70 bucks plus shiping so pm me if ya want.

You can paint it yourself fairly easy if you can use a rattlecan, mine came out great!
I had Satin black at first, loved it...but then went to glossy and love it even more!
I guess you could just use a black one from another car, just get CAMARO inserts for it to make it stand out...the whole panel just removes with like 4 wing nuts I think...gotta drop the tailights down too. Real easy, just pull back the carpet on the back side of the trunk area.
Probably better to pick up a second one, that way you can switch back and forth, I kinda wish I did...its much harder to go back to stock color than paint it a completely different mismatched one lol.

Just search rear CAMARO inserts, I will PM you where I got mine since its not a sponsor link, you can get thick stainless ones or vinyl body colored ones, like mine.

This Is a little off but before I bought this car I went to look at it and I remember it having a plaque on the passenger side shock tower that had SS and a production number. Aren't they supposed to have this? I ask because I just looked and now the shock tower is blank and there is a hole where a screw should be. Can anyone confirm this? thanks.
