recently i bought an 1985 T/A for a parts car but it has what appears to be an aluminum formula style hood on it can anyone tell me what that might have come off of and how much its worth?

If its really aluminum, its incredibly rare . They were an option on the early 82 Trans Am only , then cancelled midyear . They were also on the 91-92 Firehawks . If u sell it , find a 3rd gen Firehawk forum . Ive seen those guys at times looking for a spare hood , because there nearly impossible to come and cant be bought new anymore . It weighs 21 lbs .

Did they come on any special edition or was it standard production , where can i get any more info on it?

I think after they stopped making them in mid 1982, it wasn't used again until the 1991-1992 firehawk which there are only about 25 of. So yeah it's pretty rare.
