Who wants a good laugh?

I got the push button starter in, with the removeable modification I made to the project. It worked great (notice the past tense?). I wanted to go on a few errands and fired that puppy up. There is something to be said about pushing a button and hearing the engine roar to life. So... I parked the car in the mall lot, and removed the starter button. I got out of the car, secure in the knowledge that it will not be stolen. I put the starter button and pulled out my lighter (I don't smoke in my car). The starter button came with it. Since I wasn't expecting it, I dropped it. I heard it contact the ground, but did not see where. Then I heard the rolling sound it made. I caught sight of it... just as it was rolling into the storm drain.

I got the button back after about two hours waiting for mall maintenance. TRY explaining to security exactly WHY you can't start your car without that button.

Do I get the board's STUPIDITY award or not?

I just finished mounting the button permanently to the console panel. The mod still works beautifully, though.
