Did my driver panel today. Robbie, I'm gonna Kiss you if I ever meet you! That worked GREAT!!! and didnt take 30 mins. Oh and the paper clips were perfect! Will do my pass side hopefully fri (ran out of day light). If I'm this excited over One being done, I may want to do more than Kiss you after doin the pass side!!!!!
LOL

Sorry if i sound dumb, but is this only an issue with Pontiac f-bodies? I have Camaros, a '94 (which sadly has probably never seen a garage in its day) and a '00 and neither of them have this problem.

I believe it is only late 4th gen Firebird door panels (maybe only Trans Ams, at that). My dad swapped a door from an early 4th into his T/Am, and he told me it wouldn't crack.

I used small bolts with nylock nuts on a pair that I did.

Also, just an observation, but this isn't a common problem with LT1 cars. I've seen some TRASHED lt1 interiors that didn't have this problem, in fact, I've never seen an LT1 car with this problem to my recollection. Its been speculated on here before that sometime in 1998 GM switched plastic providers and the result is the junk plastic that cracks easy (same for ash trays, center console pieces, dashs, ect on ls1 cars).
Perhaps if you've got trashed interior pieces, you could find a matching interior from an LT1 car in a junkyard and take pieces you need.
Just a thought.
