That looks awesome!
Now I'm thinking about it too. Instead of the revolving light though, I'd make it solid red and light up with the brakes.

Not sure if I want to get into marketing them just yet, but I'd be glad to help anyone do it themselves <img border="0" title="" alt="[Cool]" src="gr_images/icons/cool.gif" />
It's pretty straight forward though...
I'll try to get a writeup for the procedure done over the Holidays...

I saw the pics and the video of it and I thought, looks good but ehh.
But then I saw it in person, when you came to Hooters with LIFBA Rick, and I gotta say the pictures and video do it a serious injustice. It looks 1000 times better in person.
Awesome!!!

Hey, now that is VERY innovative. I'm impressed. Since I just bought Nineball's ride, I think I could put CANNIBAL where the bird is on the back and light it up <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" />

Well maybe this will change your mind... 50 bux material sell at 125 bux a piece, times lets say 300 orders = $22,500 profit!!! <img border="0" title="" alt="[Eek!]" src="gr_eek2.gif" />
Better step up to the plate b4 its too late and then youll be <img border="0" alt="[bang head]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_banghead.gif" />

I have a few questions (probably should have asked earlier)...
Do you have any pics of the assembly between the lights and the cable?
Where did you get the fiber optic cable? I'm guessing thats acrylic fiber and not glass fiber, right?
How did you trim the excess fiber poking though the panel? Razor blade?
Sorry if im being a pain.

Sorry I took so long to get back to this thread, but for some reason I don't get email notifications on LS1TECH <img border="0" title="" alt="[Confused]" src="images/icons/confused.gif" />
Anyhoo, the Holiday colors needed changing, so I took the light box apart and added yellow and clear to the colorwheel...
<img src="http://development.rmci.net/~term/image.phtml/http://community.webshots.com/image5/0/67/0/64406700SKOWnL_ph.jpg" alt=" - " />
I also found that the gear reduction drive has a rubbing block (similar to an old points distributor) that triggered a microswitch on every rotation...
I pulled the switch during the initial install, but the rubbing block mechanism remained...
The motor got a load everytime the the rubbing block moved, which meant that I had to use a sufficient amount of voltage (about 5.5 volts) for the drive to run without stopping...
So I took the gear drive apart and yanked out the rubbing block...
<img src="http://development.rmci.net/~term/image.phtml/http://community.webshots.com/image5/0/66/88/64406688YIyXIH_ph.jpg" alt=" - " />
After putting it back together, I'm able to run the motor very slowly without stopping at only 2 volts <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" />
I also separated the fibers from the ends of all three cables, mixed them all up, combined them into a large single strand and used only one of the foglights to get a full range of twinkling light motion (rather than half and half like it was)...
<img src="http://development.rmci.net/~term/image.phtml/http://community.webshots.com/image5/0/67/24/64406724IzxNVC_ph.jpg" alt=" - " />

Yes, it's Acrylic...

First, I started pulling the fibers all the way through, then chopping them flush with a razor after glueing...
This worked out well, but the ends of the fibers were a little too visible for my taste (although, you really have to get up on it to see them)...
I then tried a different method by putting a large piece of masking tape over the outside of the panel and shoving the fibers in as far as they could go before glueing them in place...
Once the Epoxy set, I peeled the tape off and the fibers were much less visible...

You don't wanna waste yer gas, so you pull out ahead of him and flip the fiber optics switch that lights up a text message accross your taillights that says "F#CK OFF RICEBOY!!" <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" />
Or maybe sumthin less drastic <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" />
