VFN SS Hood Pictures!!!
<img src="http://members.tripod.com/meanz28/hood/P1010259.JPG" alt=" - " />

The scoop intake has a precut line and will use the 93-97 SS scoop grills(98's + are too slim for this scoop).
The hood is in the pre final sanding and trimming so don't be alarmed if you see it "raised" around the headlight areas and edges.
My gf rendered one of the pic on her Mac, it may appear darker on other browser or systems and the scoop lines actually looks shorter than what it really is(longer).
Pictures don't do justice, i've seen a earlier pic where the scoop looked a little narrow but in person; the design is perfect!
Thank you PSJ, VFN Armando and Auslayne for turning innovation to reality. Please add or correct me if i missed something out.

Thanks 99TA, I figure after the 1st few days tripod shouldn't be a problem. Ran into this same problem with my canada fishing pics past spring.
Same people, VFN. I'll let VFN or PSJ answer the weight and the pricing.

I also put up a few pics at www.ls1tech.com/psjpics on page II.
I think the hood will end up being ~25 lbs as a bolt-on, and 12-14 lbs as a pin-on.
That is the prototype one in the pic, parts of the underside bracing are made out of wood. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" />

Re: VFN SS Hood Pictures!!!
I don't think that they were planning on making these hoods functional with the stock induction setup, these were intended to just free up more room under the hood, for the guys that need the clearance. I'm definetely gonna order mine in January, after the final product is displayed, that hood looks sweet, the only thing that would have made it beter though, is to widen the scoop, to look more like Jon Moss' hood, that would be perfect, but this one still is way cool. Put me on the list for 1 SS hood. and 1 WS6 hood in January.

Re: VFN SS Hood Pictures!!!
I'd like to see the 'trough' leading into the scoop grille raised a little as it goes back to the grille so that the final grille opening is stock size instead of so tall.
Just an idea.

Re: VFN SS Hood Pictures!!!
They say that the grille you need to use is off an LT1 SS hood. How can that go in there and look right.
I like the hood, I was just offering constructive critisim just so you know. They had asked for ideas and input in another thread.
If they leave the opening that tall, maybe they should offer a grille for it instead of compromising with the smaller factory grille.

Re: VFN SS Hood Pictures!!!
The LT1 grill is like 40% larger than the LS1 grill, now I see what you are saying. The LT1 grill looks really good and should be a nice size relative to the entire surface area.
