Anybody done this?

Mine look like someone used steel wool on them and scratched them all up.

Well, I've never had a problem with the wheels on my T/A or GTP. But I have stripped several sets of wheels before. I use Tal-Strip (I believe from Auto Zone). A very strong paint stripper. I've used this on several sets of ARE wheels that I bought at junk yards etc ($50 and a little elbow grease isn't bad for a set of good looking wheels for a trailer ). Be careful if you use it. The fumes are very bad and you must wear gloves (dishwashing gloves work fine), as you will get a mild chemical burn.

I'de personally like to try it so I could polish mine up good. I baugh my wheels used and they have a little discoloration in the corners of the spokes(not noticable unless you are like 2 feet away and staring at them) and I'de like to polish them babies up some.

TTT for ya!

I have done alot of polishing (check out my bike on my site www.geocities.com/raptorterry click R1)

the best thing to use is heavy duty easy off oven cleaner! it will strip it and then you can sand and polish!

Terry, how hard/easy is it to do this? Last year when I took my car to get washed, the place scraped up my rim. They agreed to polish and return it back to new. Well 1 year later it looks like it is foggy and not shinny. Can I polish my wheel myself and make it look like the way it did from the factory (ws6 wheels btw). If so can you explain all the stuff I would need?

Thanks!
