Default Need your opinion

I'm having a hard time deciding which color to have my intake manifold powder coated. I'm torn between gloss black and pewter (car color). I've had all my hot pipes ceramic coated blk, all the cold pipes have been done in a textured blk and the couplings will be done in blk or red (would like your opinion on this too). My throttle body and all the reservoirs have been polished and clear coated. I'm replacing the old silver turbo blankets with blk ones. I'm going to be running custom billet alluminum valve covers (machined silver). Depending on the color of the intake manifold, I will be running either polished (if manifold is blk) or blk (if manifold is pewter) anodized fuel rails. The fuel rail covers won't be used.

I've posted pictures bellow to help you guys get an idea of what of what the motor will look like when it's done. I appreciate your opinion on this tough decision.

Here's a pic of the car, new rims, and previous motor:

New rims going on:

Pics of cold pipe, new turbos, new polished pieces and turbo manifold:

The throttle body has been polished also.

i would go with pewter cause even if you go pewter or black its still gonna flow well with the car with what you have going on with it now. and for the couplings i would go with red imo

You don't think the red couplings will look out of place?

im not trying to be offensive but give my 2cents. i mean the way it looked and the way your describing it it kinda looks like the outside of the car you have pewter, the black, a lil polished, and a hint of red and thats what i would go for under the hood if it were my car and set up the same way as yours

Excellent point. I've had most people telling me to do pewter manifold and red couplings.

again i see that me and white camaro agree. Stick with the pewter intake. The chrome/polished you can buy on ebay, but to have yours to match your car is awesome in my book. I say you do a little more powder coating, maybe paint your covers the same color, that should be plenty, with all the red, black and chrome/polished will set off the engine bay. Gives it a hot rod look, but with much more class. just my 3 pennies

Sup john, defenatly pewter. it flows with the car and gives the engine bay character. plus it makes the manifold pop over the blk FRC. otherwise the mani would be lost in between the FRC's. that car is looking good bro. looks like you have almost as much chrome as i do...lol! what are you doing with the CCw's? sell me them!!!!!

It's been a long time Buddy. Glad to see you're still around doing the car thing. I've sold the CCW's a long time ago. I'm hoping to have my car back up and running within the next month or so. Keep in touch.

Welcome brother. Again, if it was me, I'd do the FRC's smooth in pewter but leave the Corvette in Red. I think it would look sweet as hell. I seen this done on a silver 55 Chevy car that is on this site.

I'm painting my hotrod Atomic Orange and smoothing the FRC's for it. Only difference is I am painting the "Corvette" and ribs black, with the FRC's Atomic Orange.

With my new setup I won't be running the FRC's.
