Default DDM HID kit question

Hey guys,

I ordered the DDM kit for my low beams and foglights that some others on here have, I was reading through other threads about installing the kit. It seems easy enough to install, but I was curious as to how to go about changing the actual bulb out. I was under the impression that with the sealed units on the TransAm you could not just change the bulb, but had to replace the whole thing. Am I wrong here? How did those of you that have the kit install yours?

You should've done a little bit more reading. The stock headlights on the birds are sealed, you need to get a conversion kit........

For the T/a we bought a new euro housing that comes with a bulb in it. You just screw the bulb out of the back and put the Hid in for a perfect fit. Then the housing goes in replacing your stock one and everything fit great. Thats how me and my brother did his and were going to do it to mine also.

So to answer your question .. yes you have to buy a new housing or I think I have seen threads where people gut theres? But we just got the housing .. LMC ones theres a thread about it.

I also did not know that the headlights were sealed *facepalm* So I ended up buying the BLS kit. If you are going to mod and put HIDs in, retrofit some junkyard projectors! You'll be much happier, HID in reflector housings do not work very well, they are brighter than stock, but glare badly and are not focused at all.

Cheapest and most effective way for HIDs is using lmc housings.
If you really wana be crafty, retrofit projectors and then do hids.

I got my housing replacements form LMC and a set of Hella angel eyes for the fogs. Had to go with the angel eyes because my factory ones were old busted and expensive to replace. $90 each. I got the 2 HID kits form DDM tuning yesterday and will be installing them tonight. I will try to have some pics up by tomorrow. I just installed a set of fogs and lows on my buddies Fire Hawk and they look bad ***.
