Re: Billet hood insert (2000 SS) www.afterthoughtsauto.com makes a "chrome" like grille insert for our SS hoods, I myself have a 2000 SS. They are on back order right now, however, in mid-jan. they will place orders for the grille if you decide to go that route. The stock piece does lift out, I'm pretty sure there are 3 or 4 tabs at the bottom of it, gently depress and simply lift it out of its slot.
