Default Clear Corner Bulbs

I just got the clear corner lenses for my 02 Z28 for Christmas, got them installed, but noticed that although they come with the orange colored small bulbs that plug into the back of the lens, they were lacking a replacement bulb for the mount on top of the lens. I hence have two questions:
1) Is it legal to run a white bulb for the front of the lens and an orange bulb for the side?
2) If I wished to get a replacement orange bulb for the top mount, which one or what part number would I need?
Remember that these are the DLRs and Turn signal lamps, and the last thing I need right now is a fixit ticket. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Embarrassed]" src="gr_emb.gif" /> Thank you in advance to any who can help.

Mine are a solid blue color (not that aqua color), and I've never had any problems, its been about 4-5 months, and I pull by cops all the time. But I'm thinking about changing them back to all hyperwhite bulbs.

Aegnor, to avoid the chance of getting a ticket you probably should change to the amber bulbs, AutoZone, Advance Auto, Murray's carry the APC colored bulbs, you'll want part # 504003B.

I've had lots of problems with the APC bulbs -- I had one BURST in the housing .. and 3 or 4 go out within a week of install .. and NO .. I never put my fingers on the bulbs -- I used gloves.

I just got fed up and put the stock bulbs back in.

Never had any problems with APC bulbs but in your case you've had more then enough, there's other brands out there so just get the amber colored OEM bulbs, part number 3157 ( just need to make sure you get the amber ones ).

P.S. You don't need to wear gloves when installing turn signal bulbs, gloves should worn when installing headlight bulbs though.

The forward running lamps/turn signals are required to be amber. It all depends on the cops in your area though, you may or may not ever get bothered about it.

The DRLs are NOT required by law. They are a manufacturer installed feature. Purely voluntary.
If you disable your DRLs and run clear bulbs, then you are cutting down on the time you will be seen with the clear lights each day.
I disabled my DRLs because it was dumb to get clear corners only to have them lit up amber all the time when the clear corner look is what I paid for. I will be installing clear bulbs when the car comes out of winter storage. I am sick of seeing the bulb glow orange inside the clear corners.
I have my DRL disable mod on my website. My mod allows you to keep the auto headlights unlike the other mod floating around. It's super easy and free. You might check it out.
Good luck

From a cops point of view, the vehicle code states that ALL blinkers and sider markers either be amber or white in color, NOTHING ELSE.
So, it is legal to put the hyper whites in your DRL's, and have amber in your side markers, cause i have the same thing right now.
Except, i have amber DRL's, and hyperwhite side markers.
Here are the combos that i've used so far:

Amber DRL's w/ hyperwhite side markers
Hyperwhite DRL's with amber side markers
Red DRL's with hyperwhite side markers
Hyperwhite DRL's with red side markers

all look pretty cool

Just be careful with the red DRL's....hope this helps.

There is also a new bulb out now by Philips which looks clear when installed, but when turned on, shows amber. Check out this link:

It's called Silver Vision
