So I just read a thread that is a couple links down about a mismatched grey and ebony interior. I'm also in the process of switching mine over to a darker color. I just got a steal of a deal from some guy that head no idea what he had on door panels and rear speaker panels out of a 93 TA, and I do believe that they are charcoal, because they just don't look as dark as the pictures of the ebony parts I've seen on here. I'm also looking at rockers and sail panels from a seller here on the forum. He says the parts he has are ebony, but they definitely look a lot like charcoal in the pictures he sent me. So what I'm asking is how noticeable is the difference between charcoal and ebony? Should it be noticeable in the pictures? Or is it likely that the guy just doesn't know the proper color of his pieces?
here's the pic of the sail panels.

that's what I was thinking too. So it should match the door panels I bought regardless, because it looks the same color. I was just curious as to how close the ebony was to the charcoal.

it all depends on your eye and the lighting. Ive had 3 4th gen camaros, all with different color interiors, and there is a difference between ebony and charcoal. It isnt a huge difference, but in direct sunlight with one panel up against another, you will be able to see the difference.
if you are the type that can overlook this and not really care, then do it up.
if these things drive you nuts, like they do me, well you have to get all the stuff that matches, or dye it all the same color.

Heres why Charcoal and ebony really dont match up right . Even if they were the same darkness, they still woudnt match .
With greys theres 3 different tones .
Cool-which is more of true pure grey , some describe it as a blue tint, even though you dont actually see blue in it .
Warm- which is grey tones based more from a reddish hue
French- Greys with a yellowish hue . French greys can also sometimes look like a brown .
93-96 is a cool dark grey
97-99 is a french MEDIUM grey
00-02 is a French dark grey
Ultimately if your gonna mix it up , its all a matter of what your tolerance is . In really low light it might appear to blend . On a nice bright sunny day , I think youll be wishing you had all the same color . Hope the color theory stuff makes a little sense to you, lol . If you dont really understand color theory, it can can a little hard to grasp all the different hues of grey and how their made, especially when you start throwing in brown, red and blue tones in the description

Guys there was also another shade of "Light Gray" offered 93-95. Here's a pic of mine. This might be what the OP has in his 93' and all I can tell you (to the OP) if you have this Color it's pretty rare and when I searched my vin only 100 cars chose this option in 95'. It's up to you but I love pulling up and having fbody guys look at my panels and ask me if they are painted as they've never seen that light a gray in an fbody.
