Default Is Zymol best wax?

After seeing the new thread on the "higher end" Zymol Estate Vintage wax-free sample given to an Autopia member I decided to check out the Zymol site.....

I then called Zymol's 800 number and spoke with "Jonathon". Jonathon told me that "automative paint breaths like your skin and that a clear coat is basically a clear coat of paint. " He told me "it's important that your paint be able to breath through out the life of your car "and the Zymol Concourse at $150.00 a jar plus the cleanser cream by Zymol at $20.00 and it's the best stuff for my 2001 Camaro SS. He then said the main reason guys in the net don't speak about Zymol is because the general public beleives it's a German made product which it really is not. Zymol was invented and manufactuered by an American in 1980 and is based out of Connecticut. I then told him I had heard the Zymol Cleaner Wax (sold at PepBoys, Walmart) out of the Chicago area was made by Turtle wax and he said "no, that's a misconception." It's marketed thru Turtle wax but made at the Zymol factory outside Chicago. He said Zaino is very bad for your paint because it seals your paint and your paint cannot breath and over time your paint will fade........ is this true? Is Zymol that good for your paint? Check it out at.......

I stocked up on Zaino but now I'm confused!

Opinions are welcomed......

Use waht you like and are happier with. Just because it costs more doesn't mean it is better. I use Meguires Gold Class and have been very please with the results, but it is not a long lived finish. I also use Zaino, nice products, real nice finish and easy to use, a lot of work in the begining but well worth it in the end.

I have heard Zymol is good stuff, but I'm not speeding $100 + for waxes!

I use the Zymol cleaner Wax $12 bucks a bottle.
It works great you have to mist it and re buff
but it really shines and smells great too.

For ease of use and shine I give it a Ten!!!

I also use the Zymol car wash like that too.

We did a test on swirled van hood at work Zymol on one side turtle wax elite on the other side both sides looked good. the zymol side was a tad better. Zymol has no silicon and repels dust witch I think is a plus for 12 buck its worth a try. The high end Zymol paste I here is great I've not seen it though. 50 bucks seems high for wax.

I would try it. 2 dozen different formulas doesn't help either.

I just want a quick shine not a science project!!

1. Paint DOES NOT BREATH; it never has and never will!!! Paint is sprayed onto your panel then coated with clear coat. That’s it; there is no science to it. One layer on top of another. Paint is NOT A LIVING ORGANISM, it does not have pores, and it is NOT alive!!!! If your paint has pores it is a defect called FISHEYE!

2. No one speaks about Zymol for the simple fact that we can obtain a product that applies easier, removes easier with less effort, provides better u.v. ray protection and last A LOT longer, not to mention the wonderful fact that it cost 10.00 – 15.00 a bottle, not thousands (yes, some of their waxes cost over 3000.00). Who cares about where it was made, who made it, when it was developed. Think about it, people talk about results, not about gossip. If it was so great it would have a better market with professional detailers. Why is it for sale in K-Mart (that does not determine a product but think about it, if it is on a level of its own so high that why can it be sold at K-Mart). I saw a friend use it once, he applied it thin and when it dried it was a pain in the neck to remove and it was such a mess with all of the dust the residue made. I didn’t even feel the need to waste 15.00 in K-Mart. I rather use Meguairs yellow wax if I wanted results like that.

3. Zaino is probably one of the most clear coat friendly products in the market as we speak. It has NO abrasives in it, not even in the polish; their polish will fill swirls and scratches with polymer fillers, it does not fix them for good but it will hide them for months. Zaino is a polymer, much much more advanced, it is specifically engineered to go on easier, thinner and come off easier. Not to mention it will literally last two months in the summer compared to max 1 week (in real world conditions of rain, sun, heat, washing etc) for the majority of Zymol products. I don’t like Zaino myself so don’t think I’m giving you a biased opinion, I just rather use other products and get results as good as Zaino to show that a nice shine is part skill and part product, not only the product.

I will however give Zymol praise for providing outstanding results on show cars. Yes, I said show cars. Cars that don’t leave the garage and never experience the elements of Mother Nature. Coat your car in Zymol and drive through two rain storms, then do the same with Zaino. The wax will attract a lot of dust and once you wash it you will lose a considerable amount of shine. I bet you’ll put Zymol on the shelf for a long long time. I don’t see the point in spending 150.00 on Zymol and having to layer two coats on my car every weekend to keep that showroom shine when I can spend 15.00 on Zaino and get results as good and layer one coat on my car each month.

I don’t even know how Zymol can compare itself to any type of polymer sealant. They have a plant based product (carnauba) and Zaino consists of man made ingredients.

Zymol’s employees are so full of hot air when it comes to recommending anything but their products. No wonder why they need new marketing strategies (Turtle Wax is helping them advertise with their $$$$).

Get Zaino if you want a fail safe plan for a picture perfect shine with minimal amounts of time and physical work (buffing and removing) invested into your car.

Detailing is a huge hobby for me. I have invested over 1000.00 in products and machines in the past summer.

I have a pressure washer for sale hahaha needs an o-ring kit.

There is a reason that Zaino came in first in synthetcs and overall in the Guru Report, a test of 40+ car care products.

The Guru report is a good source of information for an everday detailer looking to learn a little more about whats out there but there are quite a few things I don't really care for in there quality reports, not everything is correct.

i am an auto magic distributor, and my opinion go and find your lacal dealer and pick up auto magic's xp line of wax and polish, if you can't find auto magic find a pro dealer or something like the same, you will get a lot better product and not get taken to the cleaner on the price

who caught the part about having to apply it by hand??? It is beacause the wax is hard you have to make it have some heat to melt.

I used Zymol, and didn't like it. I reached muscle failure trying to get that wax off. And, when I had thought it was all off, the next day more unremoved spots would show up. It was a few days before it was all off for good. Then I threw the bottle away. I have tried all the store bought stuff, and like Turtle "Cleaner" Wax the best. It comes off very easy, very little dust, and water beads off the car for well over a month in the rainy season. Meguiers and Mothers are harder to remove and dust way more. If my car was a garage queen and never saw bad weather, I'd try Zaino. But, no.
