I think the Camaro would have to have a matching GFX package to go with the skirts.. Having just side skirts, and nothing on the front or rear bumper would look a bit odd IMHO..

I think one big problem that guys who did side exit exhaust ran into was clearance.

^that gets away with it for the same reason the trans am does, because the way the front/rear bumpers are designed

^ What he said. I would be interested as hell in the side skirts depending on how the final design looks. And I personally don't think it would look bad if you had the openings big enough to run something what that T/A had with the Porshe tips or something like Corsa or Corsa clone tips.

Something to the tune of this would be sweet. I have been thinking about this kit anyway.

Exactly.. Ground clearance would be a bitch. I wouldnt see this working on lowered cars at all. The only way I'd see this working, and lasting, would be if you used rectangular exhaust pipes to still allow decent flow but allow clearance.

you can also mount the tips.. (nonfunctional) but run dumps. a few 99-04 Roush mustang owners have done this..

only reason i'd want real functional side exhaust is in the winter.. looks cool seeing the exhaust flow out the sides of a car.

I was thinking of fabbing something up using my stock z28 tips but I wouldn't have much clearance. I kinda wanna try a boom tube style tip like used on nascar, they would decrease clearance issues.

Awesome! That's something I've been thinking about for a while now since I saw the new Boss Leguna Seca with both rear and side exit. I fell in love with that, and for my application, I'd run 2 cutouts off the y pipe that would flow out the side exits...and then out the back when closed...or out all 4 at partially open for surround sound!

I love where this is going, but the 2 killers (at least for me) are a) clearance, is it gonna come with oval'ed piping or something to help from getting stuck on a speedbump? b) what to do about the trans am rear bumper

what kind of time line are these skirts on?

something can be made to fill in the rear bumper exhaust holes.

there was a guy on svtp that had his stock rear 04 cobra rear bumper and closed the exhaust holes up cuz he had side exhaust. actually 2 guys have done this.

I don't think 6LE should worry about the piping. There's a million different configurations possible coming off the y-pipe ntm different tubing size preferences. I think he's got it right...just tell him what shape and size tube (round, oval, square, or rectangle) and he'll cut the opening for ya. Then you can do your exhaust however you want.

As far as the TA rear bumper...that why I want to keep the rear exits....side exists on open cutouts....rear exits on closed cutouts...all 4 exits with partially closed cutouts....like a freakin symphony man!

Check this out...

2012 Boss Laguna Seca photoshoot....it's beautiful.

If I had my choice of any new car....I'd really think hard between that and the ZR1. I'd have to drive each to really know for sure....of course..that will never be an issue in my lifetime

Nah..I don't think it'll be too much weight at all...maybe 20 lbs and the weight would be located at the bottom center of the car....which would help the car be planted better in my case

Agreed. I'm not sure how those would look if the Mustang wasn't a Cobra. I think they could make a killer looking skirt for those with the RS package or similar GFX, but I think the options are very limited for those of us who don't. Maybe if they kept the shape of the factory rocker, but extended it in a way that would accommodate the side exit exhaust.

Quick Reply: It'd be cool if 6LE made Side Exhaust rocker panels
