Default Interior color question...

I'm in the process of a full black/ebony swap into my 93 camaro. I went with GM Ebony, but I noticed the center console and the dash are a much darker, glossier black.

Do the OEM ebony interiors match the dash, or is it always darker like that? The color of the dash makes the ebony look almost gray.

I'm using a product called ColorBond - It's the most amazing stuff I've ever seen for interior spray. I did a set of tan trans am seats in Ebony and they look brand new, and feel like leather still.

So would it look wrong to do everything BUT the dash and center console in ebony? Hell, I might just use some drop sheets and tape off the interior real good and spray them in the car.

This isn't necessarily true.

Can someone with an ebony interior please just tell me if their seats match the color of the dash? Or if the dash is darker.

2 different materials. How could they possibly match exactly?
Mine is pretty close to a match.
It all depends on how well the interior was taken care of. Faded from sun? Over oiling by Armor All? Dried out?

It all plays a factor.

What I'm asking is this - Is your dash plastic, and all other plastic in the car the same shade of black. Take into account fading ect. From the factory, were they the same color, or is your dash & center console darker / glossier at all?

I'll take a picture to show you what I mean

Here's what I mean - The ashtray lid is the darker black that's on my center console. The small plastic piece is GM Ebony.

I removed my dash pad (danger danger) and sprayed my dash in the car. Luckily I needed to swap out the carpet anyway and had it out. Made drop cloths easier.
