WOO HOO! Cage goes in Thursday!
After months of waiting to get my car in to have the cage done I get the call this morning to let me know to have the car down at the shop on Thursday. So I will be busy tonight tearing the interior out. Everything that will be going in:
-14pt Chrome Moly road race cage.
.125 walled thickness for the main passenger area and .095 for everthing else.
-Sparco Touring VTR seats
-Crow enterprises 5pt cage mount harness
-Sparco quick disconnect steering wheel.
It will take them about a week to do it all. when its done I will put some pics up for everyone.

Any idea how that stands in NHRA rules?

The car wont be seeing much of the drag strip anymore. The car is going to be run in Open Road Race events. It is a road race cage that will pass anything short of a NASCAR tech. inspection. And if the monkeys at the drag strip ever give me crap about it....well then they give me crap about it. But I dont see why a NASCAR cage wouldnt pass for an 11 second car. I think it has something to do with the door bars. I will have 3 side impact beams running horizontal instead of one diagonal.

All of the other beams running to the rear of the car or other bracing structures will be .095. Remember, I do have a navigator that I need to keep in one piece for the ORR runs
