Default how do you keep a garaged car clean?

I have a black 94 camaro that is super clean, its always in the garage and I drive it on the weekends every two weeks. Can I use a California duster to take off the dust? Or a detail spray? Or do I have to wash it? What doesent scratch the car?

My vette stays in the garage one or two weeks at a time and gets driven on the weekends that I'm home. Everytime I pull the cover off, there is usually a good layer of dust on it. I just use some meguires detail spray and a micro fiber cloth and wipe the whole car down quick before I take it out. Then wash it before I put it away again.

i keep two very large fleece blankets over the '68. which works pretty well. i'm not a fan of car covers unless it's abbsolutely necessary.

My car barely gets driven yet people say my car is always the dirtiest. It stayed cleaner when I DD it. Now, I get it clean, put a good coat or two of wax, then as dust/dirt accumulate on it, I do a no touch hose spray off right before I drive it. It doesn't really need a wash bc the car itself it clean.

So a detail spray with a microfiber cloth wont scratch a car with light dust on it?

I recently just started putting bed sheets over my car when it's in the garage. But i agree with just using the quick detail spray and using a towel.

"light dust", no. But if there is a "layer" of dust as some have mentioned...it is best that you wash it. Remember everything you touch to your car has the possibility to scratch it. Even more so when there is dust or dirt on the surface.

IMO, it's too easy to scratch trying to use dusters and/or quick detailer. In my eyes, the car is either clean or dirty.

Same here. If you do it often enough it works just fine. I found that if you just used detailer and microfiber with out duster, you could get scratches.
The cali duster really does work. I never in a million thought it would.

^^^^ YES!

The less you touch your paint the less abrasions you have.

There really is no better way to safeguard against scratching the paint without washing it first! Some people see differently than others do. A scratch that you might not be able to see, I might walk right up and point it out to you but i am a painter. Most people look at the paint for scratches, I look through the paint for scratches. There's a big difference between the two. Any dirt or dust WILL scratch the paint whether you can see it or the next person who looks at it can see. It's gonna get scratched either way unless you wash it
