Default Spacers or gaskets under SS spoiler posts???

I'm putting on an SS spoiler. Are there spacers or gaskets that go under the two supports (by the brake light) Please let me know. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Confused]" src="images/icons/confused.gif" />

Not sure if they serve as a watertight seal but on my car there are definetly rubber rings around where the spoiler struts meet the hatch.

is there a part number for this, or something I can go buy at the store? I'm installing an SS spoiler and have been wondering about that. Thanks

Mine has some kind of foam padding, around 1/8 inch thick. You can see it on this pic:

^ Yeah. I'll need to get some foam pads or something. Don't want it scratching the deck lid..... And come to think of it, I should have test fitted the damn spoiler first...

What about around the posts? To keep it from leaking? Not like the car is going to see rain anyway, but just in case..

I got an aftermarket spoiler for my z and it had those stick on foam things in the pick above with it, I didnt drill my decklid for the bolts that go in those posts so no need to worry about leaking, I read somehwere that somebody used double sided tape on the bottom of theirs. you cant notice that mine isnt bolted down in the middle so I wouldnt worry about it if I were you

^ Yeah, I'm not worried about it.... Don't feel like drilling the deck lid anyway.

Mine doesnt have holes for the screws either. The spoiler never leaks from the posts.

Even if it did, it wouldnt be a big deal. Tail lights leak, mirrors leak, etc. lol

^ Actually, nothing on my car leaks. I may have seen two drops from the t-tops when it was a DD, but that was it.

I think I'll just do some foam or rubber tape then and be done with it... Thanks guys..

Since I just took mine off recently... as original from SLP, posts just use double sided foam tape, about 1/8" thick. There are no bolts in the posts, no holes in the deck lid except for the four attaching bolts at the sides, which do have rubber gaskets. You guys must be referring to some aftermarket spoilers that actually use bolts in the posts? Seems like a bad idea to me.
