Default All SEM Painted Interiors Here

Would like to see interiors that been messed w/ SEM paint. There's a few threads here and there w/ an SEM painted part somewhere in the middle, but it's winter time and I'm not trying to go fishing for pictures. If anyone has any parts painted with SEM interior paint please post in here. Would really like to see an entire dash painted, but other parts will give an idea of how it would potentially look.

Here's an example from a member's thread:::::

What is the purpose of this SEM paint? Is it for smoothing the pieces out basically? SEM stand for self etching something?

nah, the first picture was a part that was sanded smooth and then painted. SEM is just a brand of paint and I guess w/ their polymer technology they have paints that adhere very well to interiors; some might say the best.

SEM is what I've used on one of my door panels that was getting ready to crack...I took it off, did the modification to fix it, then painted the discolored part (thankfully it hadn't fully cracked yet). Their paint was a dead on match for the ebony interior, and has held up great so far (granted, my car is a garage queen).

interior ....what an indefinite, vague measure for someone to give you an accurate estimation on? Just buy two sets of SEM adhesion promoter and paint cans....use them till they run dry.....and buy more if you need it. Depends on different variables including application thickness and use.

i meant like all the panels. i would want to do it all at once instead of waiting for more to get shipped and have my car stripped out for a few weeks

You can't give him a ball park estimate? What's the point of getting snarky with him?

The inside door handle part looks good after sanded and painted. I'm not much of a fan of the textured door panels/dash/door handles, I'd rather them be smooth. I may have to try this out this winter.

I painted my berger panel with SEM probably 5-6 years ago and it is still looking great. It is definitely good paint.

The SEM interior paint is THE plastic paint for interior vinyls. That being said, I would not use it where a dye product is better suited like carpet or fabric or anything extremely flexible. Simple prep and a steady hand and the panels will look like they came like that. It's pricey but worth it. I have prolly 12-15 cans in the shop

Jam ive done tons of interior with Sem products, both out of spray can, and with a spray gun and you can get great results if you prep it right, but you have to know what to dye and what not to dye. For example, the plastic pieces behind the door handles, thats just not going to last when your going to be brushing up against the surface every time you use the car, it will chip and scratch easily and look like trash, but on larger parts like dash boards and stuff that you dont really touch alot, it works great. I actually just saw a civic i did a black interior on 5-6 years ago with the SEM dye, still looks GREAT.

I have had alot of good success with the Krylon Fuzion brand paints for the plastics, they have great adheasion, forget what the directions say and give what ever your painting a light scuff and it really bonds well

Im doing my Trans Am and camaro dash with the SEM Dye with my spray gun.
