Default Amp rack install

Finally got around to mounting my sub amp and sound stream bass enhancer.
Perfect fit and the t tops go in without any issues. Next up is a good vacuuming.

Any chance of mounting amps on the backside of that rack? In other words - so the amps aren't visable at all? I'm in the process of working with my audio shop and seeing if we can get my little Alpine stackable amps to fit underneath my rear seat buckets. No one sits in the seats, so cutting some of the foam woulnd't be a problem...it's the airflow i'm nervous about. IMO that is the best spot for them, totally hidden and already have a little 'well' to sit in. I like the idea of the back panel too...

Actually the amps would fit behind the rack. theres about 3-4" of depth behind it. The bottom of the rack is open so it would get a lot of air flow. I actually could make it deeper by 2" and still have room to store the T tops.

I think that rear wall would be the perfect design - IF it flowed a bit better with the hatch latch, and also how it flowed at the bottom, instead of just ending, ya know?

So make it look like a 2 piece? /seperated in the middle? More depth will also work to hide amps also. Just got to figure a better way to mount it.

personally - i'd like to see it mimic the rear wall as much as possible. If someone looked in the "trunk" they wouldn't notice it was there at all...

Yeah, just something that flows better with the hatch lock, and around the trim. I'd like to see the rack look like it's part of the car, you know? Like it's the rear "wall" of the car...something that doesn't just stop at the bottom... Do your magic

I just don't see the point in having exposed wires and amps. If they were top of the line I would give you the option of recessing those amps in the current frame. But since they're not, I would rather see them hidden behind the OE carpet or beveled with a 45degree angle of depreciation and kind of rounded out so it looks more natural-ish. Maybe lower the top an inch, so that it's more aligned w/ the sub.

It would look nice if you had nice amps, to recess them in that amp rack and plexiglass over them...that would still be a "hidden" design, but adding some creativity to it...that might look nice....i always thought if it were possible to recess amps over the gas tank portion of the rear hatch and just glass over the amps, but there's no way of doing that, and adding a box ontop of the tank area and doing it just looks out of place, and nothing i've seen follows the interior lines, and looks factory.

I need to do something with my amp. Right now it's just tucked away in the spare tire cubby.

You could always get a rear seat delete kit and mount them inside of that as well. Just another idea

I tapped into my rear speakerwith a line to RCA unit when I first got the car. easy and cheap. Frys or best buy should have them.
